Daily Market Update - 1 July 2025

Indian markets ended June 30 on a cautious note as Nifty 50 closed at ₹25,517.05 (-0.47%) and Sensex settled at ₹83,606.46 (-0.54%), dragged by weak sentiment in large-caps. Bank Nifty eased 0.23% to ₹57,312.75, while GIFT Nifty held flat gains at ₹25,637 (+0.14%). Volatility was contained with India VIX slipping slightly to 12.78. On the commodities front, Brent Crude and WTI declined to $66.44 and $64.79 respectively, while Gold MCX inched up to ₹99,111 and Silver hovered near ₹1,05,451. Meanwhile, global cues turned positive on July 1, with the Dow Jones rising to $44,094.77 (+0.63%), Nasdaq at $20,369.73 (+0.47%), and S&P 500 at $6,204.95 (+0.52%), signaling improved risk appetite. The rupee appreciated against the dollar to ₹85.74 (+0.29%). FIIs net sold ₹831.50 crore on June 30, but DIIs offset the pressure with strong inflows of ₹3,497.44 crore.
