Dilip Buildcon wins ₹1,265 crore project
Dilip Buildcon Limited has been declared the L-1 bidder for a Maharashtra transmission project with an EPC value of ₹1,265 crore, excluding GST.
The project covers a 400 kV gas-insulated switching station at Solapur / Paranda in Dharashiv district.
Dilip Buildcon will acquire 100% equity in the project SPV and act as the Transmission Service Provider. The project will be developed under the BOOT model through the TBCB route, covering construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance.
Construction and commissioning are targeted within 24 months from the effective date. The transmission system will then be operated for 35 years from the commercial operation date.
For Dilip Buildcon, the key point is the combination of EPC revenue and a long operating period. The ₹1,265 crore EPC component provides near-term execution opportunity, while the 35-year transmission concession adds a longer-duration asset component. I would focus less on the headline order value and more on how the company funds the SPV, the final project award, and the pace of execution over the next 24 months.
The stock touched ₹431.25 on September 21 before giving up most of the gains and trading around ₹426.20. With the stock already down about 10% year to date, ₹431 to ₹432 is the immediate level I am watching. A sustained move above this zone with follow-through would indicate stronger buying interest. Failure to hold the ₹426 to ₹431 range would keep the setup cautious.
My stance is watchful. The project is positive for the order book, but execution, funding and final award confirmation remain the key triggers.
