Dixon Technologies Expands into Telecom and Data Centre Equipment Through Strategic Taiwan Partnership
Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. ($DIXON) has taken a significant step towards expanding its presence in the telecom and digital infrastructure sector by partnering with Taiwan-based Gemtek Technology Co., Ltd. to establish a joint venture in India. Under the proposed structure, Dixon will hold a 60% stake through its wholly owned subsidiary, Dixon Electroconnect Pvt. Ltd., while Gemtek will own the remaining 40%. The joint venture will focus on manufacturing Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) optical transceivers, Bidirectional Optical Subassembly (BOSA) modules and other telecom products, marking Dixon’s entry into the rapidly growing optical connectivity and data centre ecosystem. The partnership is expected to capitalize on increasing demand for high-speed networking infrastructure driven by artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, edge computing and next-generation optical communication technologies. Additionally, Dixon Electroconnect’s participation in the government’s Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) could support domestic manufacturing capabilities. While the venture remains subject to regulatory approvals and final agreements, the collaboration highlights the growing focus on building advanced telecom and data centre infrastructure in India and strengthening the country's position in the global electronics manufacturing value chain.
