Dr Reddy’s Introduces Novel Acidity Drug Tegoprazan in India

has launched tegoprazan, a next-generation potassium-competitive acid blocker (PCAB), in India under the brand name PCAB (50 mg). The drug is indicated for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and gastric ulcers, offering rapid action and sustained gastric pH control, which may provide clinical advantages over existing therapies. Approved in 21 countries and backed by phase-III trials in the US, the launch follows Dr Reddy’s 2022 partnership with South Korea’s HK inno.N Corporation. With established GI brands like Omez®, Razo® and Vono™, the addition of tegoprazan strengthens Dr Reddy’s gastrointestinal portfolio while highlighting its focus on innovation in patient care.
