Flipkart to Divest 6% Stake in Aditya Birla Fashion Through $112 Million Block Deal

Flipkart Investments Private Limited plans to divest 6% of its stake in

ABFRL
via a $112 million (₹935 crore) block deal, as part of its portfolio restructuring strategy. The offer price range is set between ₹130 and ₹136.45 per share, representing a discount of up to 4.7% from the last closing price. The transaction is expected to be executed on October 6, subject to market conditions. The divestment marks a strategic step by Flipkart, which had initially invested in ABFRL in 2020 to enhance omni-channel retail capabilities. Following the transaction, Flipkart’s holding in the company will fall below 3%. ABFRL continues to maintain a strong foothold in India’s branded apparel market, supported by its diverse portfolio including Pantaloons, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, and Louis Philippe, alongside growing investments in ethnic and luxury fashion segments.
