Fundamental Outlook
HDFC Bank remains one of India’s strongest private sector banks with a market capitalization of around ₹12.2 lakh crore. The bank has a diversified business mix across retail, wholesale banking, insurance, and asset management. Asset quality remains healthy with Gross NPA at 1.2% and Net NPA at 0.4%, while profitability stays stable with ROE of 13.8%.
The bank has a strong deposit franchise with deposits above ₹27.5 lakh crore and a CASA ratio of 34%. Its large network of 9,600+ branches and nearly 100 million customers supports long-term growth. After the HDFC Ltd merger, the bank is expected to benefit from stronger cross-selling opportunities across housing finance and financial services.
Technical Outlook
- On the daily chart, the stock is attempting to stabilize near the ₹760–₹780 support zone after a sharp correction.
- On the weekly chart, the stock is trading near a long-term rising trendline support, indicating possible accumulation at lower levels.
- On the monthly chart, the broader uptrend remains intact despite recent weakness, with major support placed around ₹720–₹750.
A sustained move above ₹800–₹820 can improve momentum and lead to gradual recovery toward higher levels over the medium term.
