GAIL strengthens LNG portfolio with 10-year Vitol deal; eyes earnings boost from upcoming tariff hike

GAIL
has signed a 10-year LNG supply deal with Vitol Asia for 1 MMTPA, starting in 2026, marking a strategic move to secure long-term clean energy supply amid rising demand. With India targeting to increase natural gas's share in the energy mix from 6% to 15% by 2030, this deal fits right into the country's energy roadmap. At the same time, GAIL is expecting a pipeline tariff hike to ₹70–71/mmBtu from the current ₹58.59, which could significantly boost its transmission earnings. The stock has responded positively as the deal improves long-term volume visibility while the anticipated tariff revision offers near-term margin expansion. Together, these developments could reinforce GAIL's position as a key player in India’s gas infrastructure build-out. Follow me for more such updates, Thank You!
