GAIL Strengthens LNG Supply Chain with Strategic Shipping Deal

has signed a long-term charter agreement with Alpha Gas to lease the LNG carrier Energy Fidelity, marking a strategic step to strengthen its global gas logistics and energy security framework. The vessel, with a cargo capacity of 174,000 cubic meters, is equipped with advanced technologies such as a two-stroke propulsion system, air lubrication technology, and shaft generators, aimed at improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions. The agreement, executed via Singapore-based Pantheon Maritime Services and signed in Athens, aligns with India’s Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, enhancing maritime infrastructure and ensuring reliable LNG supply amid rising energy demand. This move also reinforces GAIL’s position as a key global LNG portfolio player, with over 18,001+ km of pipeline network and a growing shipping fleet, supporting long-term supply security and operational efficiency in India’s evolving energy landscape.
