Garden Reach Secures ₹123 Crore Refit Contract for Mauritius Coast Guard

Garden Reach Shipbuilders has signed a ₹123.97 crore contract with the Ministry of External Affairs to carry out a normal refit of the Mauritius Coast Guard Ship (MCGS) Barracuda. This includes essential maintenance, mandatory spares, and potential additional work, with a 15% cost buffer for extra requirements. Originally built and delivered by Garden Reach in 2014, MCGS Barracuda plays a crucial role in Mauritius' maritime security. The refit project, funded by the Indian government as a grant to Mauritius, will be completed within 10 months once the vessel is available for maintenance.
