Godawari Power & Ispat invests ₹125 crore in its New Energy arm via preference share issue

GPIL
has infused ₹125 crore into its wholly-owned subsidiary Godawari New Energy Pvt Ltd (GNEPL) by acquiring 12.49 crore preference shares of face value ₹10 each, as part of a rights issue aimed at supporting GNEPL’s capital expenditure and working-capital needs. The funds will be used to build a battery energy storage system (BESS) plant and other growth initiatives. This investment aligns with the company’s broader push into clean-energy technologies and marks a strategic step to diversify beyond its steel-and-power legacy into future-oriented energy solutions.
