Gold Slips Below Key Support, What It Means for Investors?

Gold prices have dropped to a five-week low, with spot gold sliding 0.8% to $3,153.09 an ounce and US futures down 1% to $3,156.90. In India, 24 karat gold is now at ₹93,930 per 10 grams, 22 karat at ₹86,100, and 18 karat at ₹70,450. The fall comes amid easing geopolitical tensions, renewed risk appetite, and profit-booking, pushing prices below the key $3,200 support level. Analysts now see potential downside toward $3,050–3,000 an ounce, translating to ₹87,000–88,000 in India, with immediate support at ₹91,350–90,780 and resistance at ₹92,450–92,690. A softer US inflation print has boosted hopes of a Fed rate cut, possibly by 50 bps later this year, supporting gold in the long term. For investors, this dip could be a strategic entry point. In equities, jewelry and gold retail players like

TITAN
and
KALYANKJIL
may benefit from increased demand at lower prices, while gold loan companies like
MUTHOOTFIN
and
MANAPPURAM
could see margin pressure if prices fall further. Keep an eye on upcoming US PPI data and Fed commentary for the next move. Follow me for more such posts, Thank You!
