Havells India Accelerates Growth with ₹255 Crore Capacity Expansion and Entry into Energy Storage

Havells India Ltd has announced another major investment of approximately ₹255 crore to expand the cable manufacturing capacity at its Tumakuru facility in Karnataka, reflecting its focus on meeting rising demand and strengthening its manufacturing capabilities. The expansion will increase the plant's annual cable production capacity from the current 4,59,600 km to 7,34,640 km, representing an increase of nearly 60%, and is expected to be completed by December 2027 using internal accruals. The company had earlier planned to expand the facility from 3,48,000 km to 4,62,600 km annually with a total investment of ₹450 crore, of which ₹285 crore has already been invested, resulting in a current installed capacity of 4,59,600 km. In addition to expanding its core business, Havells has also entered the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) segment through a strategic partnership with Norway-based Pixii AS. The collaboration aims to develop advanced battery energy storage solutions for residential, commercial and industrial customers in India through a phased approach that includes pilot installations, co-development of integrated energy storage systems, local manufacturing and customized solutions for the Indian market. These initiatives highlight Havells' continued investment in manufacturing expansion while also strengthening its presence in the fast-growing clean energy and energy storage ecosystem.
