HBL Engineering Secures ₹1,714 Crore Kavach Order, Strengthening Railway Safety Business
$HBLENGINE has secured a major railway safety contract worth ₹1,714 crore, excluding 18% GST, from Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of on-board Kavach locomotive equipment under Version 4.0. The project is scheduled to be executed within 12 months and marks another significant order win for the company in the railway technology segment. Kavach, India’s indigenous automatic train protection system, has been gaining strong policy support as Indian Railways focuses on enhancing safety and modernising its network infrastructure. HBL Engineering, formerly known as HBL Power Systems, has been expanding its presence across defence, railways and industrial electronics, with Kavach-related projects emerging as a key growth driver in recent quarters. The latest order further strengthens the company’s execution pipeline and highlights the increasing investment momentum in railway safety and signalling infrastructure across India.
