HDFC Bank Q4FY25 Results Signal Steady Performance with Technical Breakout in Sight

HDFCBANK
reported a net profit of ₹17,616 crore for Q4FY25, rising 6.7 percent year-on-year and slightly exceeding CNBC-TV18’s estimate of ₹17,058.1 crore. Net Interest Income came in at ₹32,066 crore, up 10.3 percent compared to the previous year and ahead of the projected ₹30,769.3 crore. Asset quality saw a notable improvement as Gross NPA reduced to 1.33 percent from 1.42 percent in the previous quarter, while Net NPA dropped to 0.43 percent from 0.46 percent. Provisions stood at ₹3,193 crore, nearly flat sequentially but significantly down from ₹13,512 crore a year ago. Advances reached ₹26.4 lakh crore, growing 5.4 percent year-on-year, driven by a 9 percent rise in retail loans and 12.8 percent in commercial and rural banking, although corporate loans dipped by 3.6 percent. Deposits rose to ₹27.1 lakh crore, showing a 14.1 percent increase from the previous year. The bank declared a final dividend of ₹22 per share with June 27, 2025 as the record date. On the technical front, HDFC Bank has broken above ₹1875.90 with strong volume on both daily and weekly charts, indicating a decisive bullish move. Momentum indicators like RSI remain strong at 70.15 on the daily chart and 65.86 on the weekly, while price action stays well above key moving averages. The breakout from the long consolidation zone between ₹1795 and ₹1875.90 has opened up potential upside targets around ₹1950 to ₹1985, with ₹2000 as a psychological mark. Dips toward ₹1875 could be healthy retests as long as ₹1795 support holds. While brokerages remain mixed in their outlook, Goldman Sachs retains a target of ₹2087 and Equirus at ₹1960, reflecting cautious optimism. I have attached the daily chart of
