Hero MotoCorp Accelerates Scooter & EV Expansion with ₹1,500 Crore FY27 Investment

Hero MotoCorp (

HEROMOTOCO
) is stepping up its growth strategy with a planned capital expenditure of around ₹1,500 crore for FY27, focusing heavily on expanding scooter and electric vehicle production capacities. The company aims to nearly double its scooter production from around 60,000 units per month to close to 1 lakh units, driven by rising demand for models like Destini and Xoom. Alongside this, Hero is also strengthening its EV business under the Vida brand, where production capacity has already increased from 15,000 units to 25,000 units per month and is expected to expand further in the coming quarters. In addition, the company has committed over ₹700 crore towards building a global parts centre in South India to improve supply chain efficiency and support future growth. The aggressive expansion highlights Hero MotoCorp’s strong focus on capturing opportunities in India’s fast-growing scooter and EV segments while preparing for long-term scale and competitive positioning in the two-wheeler market.
