IndiGo Doubles Its A350-900 Order, Strengthening Long-Haul Expansion Plans

INDIGO
has strengthened its global expansion strategy by converting 30 of its 70 purchase rights for Airbus A350-900 aircraft into firm orders, taking its total confirmed order to 60 wide-body jets while retaining rights for 40 more. The agreement, initially outlined in June 2025 at the IATA AGM in New Delhi, marks a major step in IndiGo’s transition into long-haul operations. The A350-900 fleet, powered by Rolls-Royce’s highly efficient Trent XWB engines, will enhance operational flexibility, fuel efficiency, and global connectivity. This expansion positions IndiGo to tap into new international routes, including long-haul destinations across the Americas, reflecting its growing ambition and confidence in India’s booming aviation sector.
