Standalone Q4FY25 Results and Technical Outlook
posted a standout Q4FY25 net profit of ₹19,562 crore, but a major chunk—₹15,179 crore—came from a one-time gain due to discontinued operations. Excluding that, the actual net profit was ₹4,875 crore, up just 0.8% YoY and below street estimates. Revenue grew 9.4% YoY to ₹18,494 crore, and EBITDA rose 2.5% YoY to ₹5,986 crore. The cigarette business remained a steady performer with 6% revenue growth (₹8,399.6 crore) and 4% profit growth (₹5,117.9 crore), thanks to premium offerings and tight cost control. The FMCG segment saw modest 3.7% revenue growth (₹5,494.6 crore), but EBITDA dropped sharply by 20.5% due to high input costs in edible oils, wheat, and cocoa. Agri business stood out with an 18% revenue jump to ₹3,649 crore and a 26% rise in profit to ₹255 crore. However, the paper & packaging segment struggled, with a 5.5% revenue rise to ₹2,188 crore and a steep 31% drop in profit, hurt by cheap imports and high wood costs.
Technically, the stock closed at ₹426.10 after a 1.59% drop, facing resistance at both the 100-day EMA (₹427.52) and 70-day EMA (₹432.22). RSI at 47.96 and a lower high near ₹444–₹446 hint at weak momentum. On the weekly chart, rejection near the 70-week (₹448.91) and 100-week EMAs (₹449.76), along with an RSI of 46.12, indicates a neutral to bearish trend. Key support lies between ₹423–₹417, and if breached, the stock may slide to ₹403–₹399. A move above ₹444 with strong volume could shift momentum. For now, near-term caution is warranted. The board has declared a ₹7.85/share final dividend for FY25.
