Jaguar Land Rover to Gradually Resume Production from October 8 After Cyber Incident

TATAMOTORS
subsidiary, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), is set to initiate a phased resumption of production from October 8 after operations were disrupted by a cyberattack on August 31. The restart will commence at JLR’s electric propulsion manufacturing centres in the West Midlands, followed by the return of operations at stamping facilities in Castle Bromwich, Halewood, and Solihull, along with key functions such as the body shop, paint shop, and Logistics Operations Centre. Vehicle manufacturing in Nitra, Slovakia, and the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport (MLA) lines at Solihull will also recommence this week. To support the supply chain during this phase, JLR has introduced a fast-track financing programme that enables suppliers to receive payments earlier than the standard 60-day term, improving cash flow stability. Reports indicate the production halt resulted in an estimated loss of £50 million per week, with potential total costs around £2 billion—reflecting the scale of impact and the critical importance of JLR’s controlled and strategic recovery plan.
