JBM Auto Targets ₹7,000–7,500 Crore Revenue with EV Business Set to Contribute 45% in FY27

JBM Auto has outlined an ambitious growth roadmap for FY27, targeting revenue of ₹7,000–7,500 crore, with nearly 45% expected to come from its electric vehicle (EV) business, reflecting the company's increasing focus on clean mobility. The company is currently executing an order book of more than 9,000 electric buses over the next two-and-a-half years, with over 95% of orders coming from the domestic market and the remainder from exports. JBM Auto's electric bus manufacturing capacity stands at 20,000 buses per year, providing ample room for future growth. In Q1 FY27, the company reported a 15% year-on-year increase in revenue to ₹1,442 crore, while net profit rose 16% to ₹42.4 crore. EBITDA grew 9% to ₹195 crore, although the EBITDA margin moderated to 13.5% from 14.4% due to higher raw material costs. Management expects margins to recover in the second half of the financial year and remain in line with last year's levels. The company also reduced debt by around ₹500 crore during the first quarter and plans to maintain current debt levels to support future expansion while keeping finance costs under control. The EV business, which generated around ₹2,300–2,400 crore in revenue last year, is expected to exceed ₹3,000–3,200 crore in FY27, representing nearly 40% growth, while the components business is projected to grow by 10–15%.
