JSW Energy Powers Ahead with 1,081 MW Renewable Capacity Addition
JSW Energy has strengthened its renewable energy portfolio by commissioning 1,081 MW of new capacity since April 2026, taking its total installed capacity to 14,535 MW. The latest additions include 442 MW solar, 108 MW wind, 381 MW hybrid, and 150 MW hydro, increasing the share of renewables to 61% of its total portfolio.
The company also commissioned a wind blade manufacturing facility at Halol, Gujarat, with an annual capacity of 450 blades, supporting nearly 600 MW of wind installations each year. Its total locked-in generation capacity now stands at 32.1 GW, including 14.53 GW operational, 13 GW under construction, and a 4.6 GW pipeline, while remaining on track to achieve its 3 GW renewable addition target by FY2027.
Looking ahead, JSW Energy aims to reach 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage by 2030, supported by 29.6 GWh of locked-in storage capacity. The recent acquisition of 100% stake in Maruti Clean Coal and Power Ltd, which operates a 300 MW thermal power plant with ₹787 crore in revenue, further strengthens its long-term growth strategy, subject to regulatory and lender approvals.
