This acquisition adds a 3,600 MW (3.6 GW) thermal power plant in Chhattisgarh, significantly expanding JSW Energy’s generation capacity and reinforcing its position in India’s power sector. With a market cap of ₹88,943 Cr. and a current stock price of ₹509, JSW Energy continues its strategic growth, operating power assets across Karnataka, Maharashtra, Nandyal, and Salboni. The company also has a JV in mining and an associate in turbine manufacturing. Key financials: 🔹 Debt-to-Equity: 1.10 | Total Debt: ₹30,853 Cr. 🔹 ROCE: 8.59% | ROE: 8.40% 🔹 P/E: 47.4 | Industry P/E: 28.3 🔹 5-Year Profit Growth: 19.8% Technically, JSW Energy is attempting a recovery from a prolonged downtrend, currently trading near ₹509.10. The 1D chart shows the stock rebounding from a key support zone around ₹440–460, forming higher lows, indicating bullish momentum. The 100-day moving average at ₹602.70 suggests a long-term bearish trend, but the stock is challenging short-term resistance near ₹512–515. A breakout above this level could lead to further upside toward ₹540 and ₹565, where key moving averages and past resistance levels align. The 4H chart confirms bullish momentum, with the RSI rising above 63.86, signaling increasing buying pressure. However, the 100-MA (₹524) and 70-EMA (₹491.95) remain crucial hurdles. A sustained move above ₹515–520 could accelerate buying, while failure to hold above ₹477 may invite further consolidation. I have attached the daily chart for your reference.
