L&T Secures Over ₹15,000 Crore Offshore Wind Order, Strengthening Global Renewable Energy Portfolio
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured an 'ultra-mega' framework agreement worth over ₹15,000 crore from TenneT for its 2 GW offshore wind programme, marking another significant milestone in its global infrastructure business. This is the company's third consecutive order announcement, taking its total disclosed order wins since May 20 to nearly ₹45,000 crore.
The agreement, executed in partnership with Hitachi Energy, covers six projects and future opportunities under TenneT's 2 GW HVDC programme, supporting the integration of offshore renewable energy across Europe. The consortium will continue work on the IJmuiden Ver Alpha and Nederwiek 1 projects in the Netherlands, while also commencing Nederwiek 3 in the Netherlands and LanWin 5 in Germany.
Together, these projects will deliver a cumulative transmission capacity of 8 GW operating at 525 kV, enabling renewable energy generated in the North Sea to be transmitted efficiently to onshore power grids in the Netherlands and Germany. L&T will be responsible for engineering, procurement, construction and installation of offshore converter platforms and related infrastructure.
While Hitachi Energy will provide its HVDC Light power transmission technology. The latest contract further strengthens L&T's international order book and reinforces its growing presence in large-scale renewable energy infrastructure and offshore engineering projects.
