L&T strengthens metals footprint with ₹2,500–₹5,000 Cr Hindustan Zinc order

has won a significant contract worth ₹2,500–₹5,000 crore from Hindustan Zinc to upgrade its Debari smelter in Rajasthan, marking another step forward in its long-standing association with the company. The project involves building a 250 KTPA purification and cellhouse facility and a 125 KTPA Jarosite unit to deliver high-grade zinc output. This order further boosts L&T’s execution pipeline after a solid Q1, where it reported a 29.9% YoY rise in net profit to ₹3,617 crore and a 15.5% revenue jump to ₹63,678 crore. With quarterly order inflows hitting ₹94,453 crore and the consolidated order book crossing ₹6.13 lakh crore, L&T continues to benefit from a robust investment cycle across core sectors.
