L&T Wins Strategic Railway Contract in Oman, Strengthening UAE-Oman Trade Corridor
Larsen & Toubro (L&T), in partnership with Power China, has secured a significant contract to develop key railway logistics facilities for the Oman-UAE railway project, known as Hafeet Rail. This strategic initiative aims to construct state-of-the-art facilities in Oman's Al Buraimi and Sohar regions, designed to meet global freight handling standards. The project will enhance the seamless transportation and handling of bulk, containerized, and breakbulk cargo, thereby improving efficiency and multimodal connectivity.
The Sohar facility will also include provisions for locomotive and wagon maintenance, ensuring long-term asset reliability and optimized operational performance. These developments are set to strengthen both nations' positions as key trade and logistics hubs, fostering greater economic diversification and cross-border investment.
