!LICI Q4FY25 Results

!LICI posted strong profits in the March 2025 quarter (Q4FY25), with net profit rising to ₹19,013 crore — up from ₹11,056 crore in the December 2024 quarter (Q3FY25) and ₹13,763 crore a year ago (Q4FY24). Sales for the quarter stood at ₹2,42,479 crore, higher than ₹2,02,823 crore in Q3FY25 and ₹2,38,092 crore in Q4FY24. Operating profit also jumped to ₹21,492 crore compared to ₹11,985 crore in Q3 and ₹1,548 crore last year. Operating margin improved to 9% from 6% last quarter and just 1% a year ago. However, LIC faced pressure in its new business. The New Business Premium fell 9% year-on-year to ₹70,019 crore from ₹77,282 crore. Total APE (Annualized Premium Equivalent) dropped 3% to ₹18,853 crore from ₹19,425 crore, and Retail APE declined 9% to ₹13,606 crore from ₹15,014 crore. Value of New Business (VNB) decreased 14% to ₹3,534 crore compared to ₹4,105 crore last year. VNB margin fell to 18.75% from 21.1%. Still, LIC’s results were better than market estimates. New Business Premium was higher than expected (₹70,019 crore vs ₹68,714 crore estimate), and VNB also beat forecasts (₹3,534 crore vs ₹3,185 crore expected). For the full year FY25, LIC’s total profit rose to ₹48,151 crore, up from ₹40,676 crore in FY24 and ₹36,397 crore in FY23. Sales reached ₹8,86,763 crore, up from ₹8,42,708 crore last year and ₹7,81,543 crore in FY23. Operating profit grew to ₹52,547 crore in FY25 from ₹32,542 crore in FY24 and ₹34,580 crore in FY23. Operating margin improved to 6% this year compared to 4% in both FY24 and FY23. LIC’s profit performance was strong both quarterly and yearly, but there was a noticeable slowdown in new business and margins. This shows the company needs to focus on improving product offerings and driving new premium growth going forward. Follow me for more such posts, Thank You!
