LUPIN
has received approval from the US FDA for its Famotidine Injection USP 20 mg/2 mL (10 mg/mL) single-dose vials, which is a generic version of Pepcid Injection. The injection is mainly used for treating conditions such as stomach ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, and other acid-related disorders, especially for hospitalized patients who are unable to take oral medicines.
The product will be manufactured at Lupin’s Nagpur facility in India, further strengthening the company’s presence in the regulated US pharmaceutical market. According to IQVIA MAT March 2026 data, the approved product has estimated annual sales potential of nearly USD 8.7 million in the US market. This approval also highlights Lupin’s continued focus on expanding its injectable and complex generic portfolio globally, which could support its long-term growth opportunities in the healthcare sector.
