Marksans Pharma gains 6% as UK arm secures drug approvals, expands global footprint

MARKSANS
stock rose over 6% on Monday, May 19, after its wholly-owned UK subsidiary, Relonchem Limited, received market authorisation from the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) for Sennosides 7.5 mg tablets which are used to treat constipation. This is the second major approval in a week, as Relonchem also got MHRA approval for Gabapentin oral solution (50 mg/ml), a key treatment for nerve pain and epilepsy, especially helpful for patients with difficulty swallowing pills. Earlier in March, the company’s manufacturing facility in Verna, Goa, was approved by Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) to produce solid dosage forms like tablets and hard capsules for the Australian market. These developments reflect Marksans’ focus on expanding in regulated markets like the UK and Australia, strengthening its product portfolio and export potential.
