Maruti Suzuki Accelerates Capacity Expansion with Second Kharkhoda Plant

, has started commercial production at its second manufacturing plant in Kharkhoda, Haryana, marking another major step in its long-term expansion strategy. The new facility adds an annual production capacity of 2.5 lakh vehicles, taking the total capacity at the Kharkhoda site to 5 lakh units per year, while Maruti Suzuki’s overall manufacturing capacity across Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda, and Gujarat has now increased to 26.5 lakh units annually. The company plans to scale the Kharkhoda facility further to 10 lakh vehicles per annum once fully operational, making it one of Suzuki’s largest global manufacturing hubs. The plant currently manufactures popular SUV models such as the Brezza and Victoris, reflecting the company’s increasing focus on the high-growth SUV segment. This expansion aligns with Maruti Suzuki’s broader strategy of adding 5 lakh units of production capacity during FY27 to meet rising domestic demand and strengthen India’s position as a key global automobile manufacturing and export hub.
