Maruti Suzuki Expands Skill Development Efforts with 5 New Advanced Manufacturing Labs in Gujarat

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd ($MARUTI) has partnered with the Government of Gujarat’s Directorate of Employment and Training to establish Advanced Manufacturing Labs (AMLs) at five Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) located in Palanpur, Bhavnagar, Surendranagar, Godhra and Dahod. The initiative is aimed at strengthening industry-oriented skill development and preparing students for the evolving needs of the automotive manufacturing sector. These labs will provide practical training, hands-on exposure to modern manufacturing equipment and learning aligned with industry standards, helping bridge the gap between classroom education and workplace requirements. Maruti Suzuki currently supports 31 ITIs across the country in manufacturing-related trades and has already set up 18 Advanced Manufacturing Labs nationwide. With the addition of five new facilities in Gujarat, the total number of AMLs supported by the company will rise to 23 across seven states and Union Territories. As Gujarat continues to emerge as a key manufacturing base for the company, this initiative is expected to enhance the quality of technical education, strengthen industry-academia collaboration and contribute to building a skilled workforce that can support India’s ambitions of becoming a global automotive and manufacturing hub.
