Maruti Suzuki’s Big Capacity Push: ₹10,189 Cr Bet on Future Growth

MARUTI
has approved a major expansion plan by investing ₹10,189 crore to set up the first phase of a new manufacturing facility at Gujarat’s Khoraj Industrial Estate, which will add an annual production capacity of 2.5 lakh (250,000) vehicles by 2029, funded entirely through internal accruals, while also building core infrastructure for future expansion; this move comes at a time when the company’s existing plants across Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda, and Hansalpur are already operating at near full utilisation with a total capability of around 26 lakh units per year, indicating strong demand visibility both domestically and in export markets, and strategically positions the company to scale operations efficiently in line with long-term volume growth without immediate external funding pressures.
