NATCO Pharma Secures Approval to Launch Generic Risdiplam in India

NATCOPHARM
has received approval from the Delhi High Court to introduce its generic version of Risdiplam, a treatment for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a rare genetic disorder that leads to severe muscle weakness in infants. The court’s decision on October 9, 2025, dismissed Roche’s appeal and reaffirmed the earlier ruling that prioritized accessibility and public interest. NATCO will launch the drug at an MRP of ₹15,900, with additional patient support through its access program. Headquartered in Hyderabad, the company operates 9 manufacturing facilities and 2 R&D centers across India, further strengthening its presence in the generic and specialty pharmaceuticals segment.
