NTPC Green Energy, Khavda-I commissioning lifts operational renewables base toward 8 GW

reported the start of commercial operations for an additional 69.04 MW at its 1,255 MW Khavda‑I solar PV project in Gujarat, effective December 25. The project is being executed by NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd, NGEL’s wholly owned subsidiary, under the CPSU Scheme Phase‑II (Tranche‑III). Following this commissioning, NGEL’s group-level commercial renewable capacity increased to 7,996.30 MW from 7,927.26 MW, taking the platform to just under 8 GW. The update follows an earlier commissioning announcement of 37.925 MW from the broader Khavda solar development, highlighting a phased ramp-up of capacity at the site in Gujarat’s Kutch district. Financially, the company reported September-quarter net profit of ₹88 crore versus ₹38 crore a year earlier (+131.6% YoY), with revenue at ₹612.3 crore (+21.5% YoY) and EBITDA at ₹529.6 crore (+26% YoY).
