Oil India and GAIL Strengthen Natural Gas Collaboration

and have entered into an MoU to enhance cooperation across the natural gas value chain, with the objective of improving domestic gas availability and supporting India’s transition towards a cleaner energy mix. The agreement brings together OIL’s upstream strengths and GAIL’s expertise in marketing and distribution to create efficiencies across the sector while aligning with the Government’s vision of a gas-based economy. In parallel, Oil India has confirmed the occurrence of natural gas at its Vijayapuram-2 exploratory well in the Andaman Shallow Offshore Block under OALP, where preliminary inflows have been recorded and further studies are underway to assess its potential.
