Paras Defence seals MoU with IUAC for indigenous MRI magnets

has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC) to jointly develop commercial-grade MRI magnet systems in India, advancing the Atmanirbhar Bharat agenda and reducing reliance on imports for high end medical equipment. The collaboration builds on the company’s existing work with IUAC to co develop MRI magnet technology aligned with global standards, leveraging precision engineering, cryogenics, and superconducting know how for 1.5T class systems. This initiative is expected to lower procurement costs by about 30%, create domestic manufacturing jobs, and position India as a credible supplier in MRI components, with production targeted at Paras’s Ambernath facility in the coming financial year.
