RVNL
has won a ₹115.79 crore contract from Central Railway’s Nagpur division to upgrade the 1x25 KV electric traction system to a 2x25 KV system in the Itarsi-Amla section, supporting a 3,000 MT loading target. The project will be executed over 24 months. Additionally, RVNL, in partnership with HFCL Ltd and Aerial Telecom Solutions, has signed a ₹13,253 crore agreement with BSNL to develop and maintain the BharatNet middle-mile network.
This project includes a three-year construction phase and a 10-year maintenance period, with fees set at 5.5% of capex for the first five years and 6.5% for the next five. BharatNet aims to expand broadband access in rural India, supporting the Digital India mission and driving economic growth.
