RailTel bags ₹186.51 crore in new orders

RailTel Corporation of India Limited received two work orders worth a combined ₹186.51 crore on October 16, including a ₹167.52 crore contract from the Railway Recruitment Board, Secunderabad. The orders cover recruitment examination services and IT infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions, adding long-term visibility to the company's project revenue. The larger contract covers pre-examination and post-examination services for RRB recruitment and runs until October 15, 2031. The second order, worth ₹18.99 crore including taxes, is from Health Insurance TPA of India Ltd for IT infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions until October 16, 2029. These wins follow a ₹49 crore Odisha government order on October 13 and contracts worth ₹165 crore and ₹166.8 crore secured in August. The series of awards supports RailTel's project pipeline across government and institutional clients. My view: The key factor is execution, not just the order value. RailTel has retained its FY27 revenue growth guidance of 20% to 25%, with project business growth expected at 40% to 50%. The new contracts provide multi-year revenue visibility, but the shift towards projects could weigh on overall margins as the project share increases. Investors should track order execution, working capital requirements and margin trends in upcoming results. RailTel shares closed at ₹254.55 on the NSE on October 16, up 0.41%. The next trigger is evidence that strong order inflows are translating into revenue growth without significant margin pressure. Stance: Watch for execution and profitability before drawing a stronger bullish conclusion.
