Reliance Industries Expands into Explosives and Fertilisers

Reliance Industries Ltd shareholders approved three resolutions on August 20, 2026, including an amendment to the company’s Memorandum of Association to expand its business scope into ammonia, nitric acid, ammonium nitrate (AN), ANFO, explosives, blasting agents, fertilisers and agro-chemicals. The proposed Sub-Clause 14 also covers products such as anhydrous ammonia, ammonium sulphate, UAN, CAN, other AN derivatives, related raw materials and intermediates, with sales permitted in India and overseas. The approvals also include material related-party transactions involving RIL and its subsidiaries, while the MOA amendment remains subject to Registrar of Companies approval. The move broadens RIL’s permitted business activities across chemicals, fertilisers and explosives-related segments.
