Reliance Industries Increases Stake in Nauyaan Shipyard for ₹51.72 Cr

RELIANCE
, through its step-down subsidiary Nauyaan Tradings Private Limited (NTPL), has acquired an additional 10% equity stake in Nauyaan Shipyard Private Limited (NSPL) from Welspun Corp Ltd for a total consideration of ₹51.72 crore. This transaction strengthens RIL’s existing position in the shipbuilding space and reflects the group's ongoing focus on scaling operations in capital-intensive, infrastructure-led verticals. NSPL remains a step-down subsidiary of RIL following this acquisition. The deal was completed on April 11 and formally disclosed through regulatory filings with both BSE and NSE. While financial specifics were shared, no change in management control has been indicated. From a strategic standpoint, this move supports Reliance’s broader objective of expanding its industrial footprint, particularly in sectors with long-term infrastructure potential.
