RVNL Secures ₹2,977 Crore NMDC Order to Strengthen Iron Ore Logistics at Vizag
Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd ($RVNL) has secured a major contract worth ₹2,977 crore from NMDC to develop buffer stockpiles and a blending yard with a handling capacity of 10 million tonnes per annum (10 MTPA) at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The project, which is scheduled to be completed within 42 months, is aimed at enhancing NMDC’s logistics infrastructure and improving the efficiency of iron ore and raw material handling. Buffer stockpiles and blending yards play a key role in inventory management and help maintain the quality and consistency of materials supplied to customers. The new facility is expected to streamline the movement of raw materials and strengthen NMDC’s supply chain capabilities. RVNL stated that the order has been received in the normal course of business from a domestic entity and clarified that neither the company’s promoters nor its group companies have any interest in NMDC, making it a non-related party transaction. The order further reinforces RVNL’s growing presence in large-scale infrastructure projects and highlights continued investments in India's mining and logistics ecosystem.
