RVNL Strengthens Order Book with ₹242 Crore Railway Electrification Project

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (

RVNL
) has secured a significant domestic contract worth ₹242.49 crore from South Central Railway, reinforcing its strong presence in India’s railway infrastructure space. The project involves the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of upgraded overhead electrification systems, transitioning from the existing 1x25 kV system to a more efficient 2x25 kV AT feeding system, along with feeder and earthing works. This upgrade will be executed on the Ongole–Gudur section under the Vijayawada Division, covering 154 route kilometres (RKM) or 462 track kilometres (TKM), with a defined execution timeline of 24 months. Importantly, the order is purely domestic, falls under the normal course of business, and has no related party involvement, ensuring transparency. Strategically, this project enhances railway efficiency, supports higher train speeds, and improves energy reliability further strengthening RVNL’s execution capabilities and order book visibility in the railway electrification segment.
