Sterlite Technologies Bags $1.11 Billion Hyperscale Optical Connectivity Deal for AI Data Infrastructure
Sterlite Technologies Ltd ($STLTECH) through its subsidiary, has received a Product Award Letter (PAL) from a hyperscale global partner for a multi-year supply of optical connectivity products, marking a significant win in the global digital infrastructure space. The total potential value of the contract is estimated at approximately $1.11 billion based on prevailing product pricing, with supply allocation planned across FY27 to FY29 and execution continuing up to March 2029. Purchase orders will be released in phases over the contract period, depending on demand. The agreement also includes a reciprocal risk-sharing framework, which defines mutually capped financial liabilities for both parties in case of demand shortfalls or supply constraints, adding structural balance to the engagement. The contract is international in nature and is not a related party transaction, with no promoter or promoter group involvement in the awarding entity. Importantly, STL stated that its optical solutions will support the development of AI-driven data center infrastructure in the US, effectively enabling the connectivity backbone for hyperscaler data centers, reflecting the rising global demand for high-speed, scalable network infrastructure driven by AI and cloud expansion.
