Sudarshan Chemical acquires 15.89% stake for ₹151 crore
Sudarshan Chemical Industries Limited has agreed to acquire a 15.89% stake in Sudarshan Colorants India Limited for ₹150.76 crore.
The transaction involves 36,68,036 equity shares held by its wholly owned subsidiary, Sudarshan Europe B.V., with completion expected on or after September 29, 2026.
This forms part of the proposed acquisition of a 70.26% stake in Sudarshan Colorants India, formerly Heubach Colorants India Limited.
The company is also exiting non-core operations through the proposed €76.5 million sale of its German subsidiary VP4 Frankfurt GmbH to a buyer belonging to Celanese Corporation.
My view: Sudarshan Chemical is consolidating its pigment business while divesting non-core operations. The strategic focus is clear, but the impact on earnings and capital allocation will depend on the completion of both transactions and subsequent financial results.
Shares closed at ₹1,199.60 on September 28, down 1.58%. I would watch for completion of the 70.26% acquisition and details of the German divestment before assessing the financial impact.
