Tata Power Commissions Key 400 kV Line to Strengthen North India’s Power Supply

TATAPOWER
has commissioned the 400 kV Koteshwar–Rishikesh transmission line, enabling the evacuation of 1,000 MW of hydropower from the Tehri–Koteshwar region to major northern states. Completed across difficult Himalayan terrain at altitudes above 1,800 m, the project was executed by over 500 personnel and required clearance of 103 hectares. This marks the third major asset under the NRSS XXXVI project and expands Tata Power’s transmission network to 7,083 circuit-km, further improving grid reliability and clean-energy flow across North India.
