TATASTEEL
has launched the ₹27,000 crore Phase II expansion of its Kalinganagar plant in Jajpur, Odisha, increasing its crude steel production capacity from 3 million tonnes to 8 million tonnes annually. This development strengthens Odisha as its largest investment location. The expanded facility will produce advanced high-strength steel for sectors like automotive, infrastructure, power, shipbuilding, and defence.
The inauguration was attended by Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi and Tata Steel CEO & MD T.V. Narendran. Recently, Tata Steel reported a consolidated net profit of ₹1,201 crore in Q4FY25, up from ₹555 crore last year and above the projected ₹1,080 crore. The company has also announced plans to invest up to $2.5 billion in its Singapore-based subsidiary, T Steel Holdings Pte Ltd, as part of its international expansion efforts.
