Titagarh Rail Strengthens Defence Play with Naval Milestone

Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (

TITAGARH
), through its subsidiary, has achieved a key milestone by launching the fourth Diving Support Craft (A23, Yard 328) for the Indian Navy on 19 April 2026, marking steady progress in its five-vessel defence order under the Government’s “Make in India” initiative. The vessel was launched at 14:55 hrs into the Hooghly River, with around 150 employees present, reflecting strong execution capabilities. These crafts are advanced catamaran-type vessels equipped with indigenously sourced systems, designed to support critical underwater operations such as inspection, repair, maintenance, and salvage in harbour and near-shore environments. Notably, this project stems from a 2021 contract for five vessels, with earlier crafts like DSC A20 already commissioned, highlighting consistent delivery momentum. From an operational standpoint, such vessels significantly enhance the Navy’s Command Clearance Diving Teams’ efficiency and readiness, while strategically reinforcing India’s push toward defence indigenisation.
