TP Solar Hits 4 GW Milestone at Tamil Nadu Plant, Plans Bigger Output Ahead

’s solar arm, TP Solar, has crossed a major milestone by producing 4,049 megawatts (MW) of solar modules and 1,441 MW of solar cells at its plant in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, as of May 31, 2025. This facility, built with an investment of ₹4,300 crore, is India’s largest solar cell and module factory at a single location, with a current capacity of 4.3 GW each for both modules and cells. The company now plans to scale up production to 3,725 MW of modules and 3,700 MW of cells in the financial year 2025–26. The plant makes modules that follow DCR rules and are ALMM-listed, using Indian-made cells with advanced technologies like TOPCon and Mono PERC. also runs a separate unit in Bengaluru, producing 682 MW of modules and 530 MW of cells, both operating at full capacity.
