Uno Minda Approves ₹1,415 Crore Growth Capex
Uno Minda Ltd has approved incremental capital expenditure of ₹1,415 crore across four manufacturing projects, along with fundraising plans of up to ₹600 crore through non-convertible debentures (NCDs) and a revolving commercial paper limit of ₹500 crore. The projects include a ₹155 crore two-wheeler alloy wheel plant at Kharkhoda, Haryana, with annual capacity of 3.3 million units, including relocation of 2 million existing units from Supa, Maharashtra.
The company currently has 8 million wheels per year capacity at around 70% utilisation, with 1.3 million units of incremental capacity to be added in phases and production targeted from Q4 FY28. A new ₹510 crore greenfield casting facility at Hosur, Tamil Nadu, will add 20,557 MT annually to the existing 13,255 MT capacity, which is currently operating at 100% utilisation, with production planned in phases from Q4 FY28 and consolidation of existing operations by Q1 FY29.
The Bengaluru facility of Uno Minda Kyoraku Ltd will receive ₹80 crore for an expansion that adds 1.38 million units to its 3.28 million-unit capacity, currently at 91.9% utilisation, with production targeted for Q1 FY28. Separately, Toyoda Gosei South India Pvt Ltd will invest ₹670 crore in a Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra facility for interior and exterior products, airbags, hoses and body sealing parts; its existing capacity is 4.5 lakh units at around 90% utilisation, with another 1.5 lakh units to be added in phases from Q4 FY29. The four projects will be funded through term loans and internal accruals, with capacity additions aimed at business growth and meeting customer demand.
