Waaree Energies Strengthens U.S. Presence with Expansion Plans and Clarity on Policy Exposure

WAAREEENER
has reaffirmed its strategic focus on the U.S. utility-scale solar market, stating it remains largely insulated from the potential impact of President Trump's proposed “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which is aimed at retail and consumer solar installations. The company emphasized that its core operations lie in manufacturing high-efficiency modules for industrial and utility-scale projects—segments untouched by the bill’s provisions. Backed by strong commercial traction, Waaree’s U.S. arm has recently secured major orders including 586 MW and 599 MW module supply deals from leading IPPs. To meet growing demand, Waaree plans to double its U.S. manufacturing capacity in Brookshire, Texas, to 3.2 GW by the end of 2025. Importantly, the bill retains key incentives such as the Section 45X manufacturing tax credit, which continues to support domestic solar manufacturing. The company has also positioned itself well under the FEOC compliance framework, which it believes gives Indian manufacturers a strategic advantage in the evolving U.S. solar supply chain. With a 25 GW order book locked through 2027, Waaree is building a solid foundation for long-term global growth, though execution and regulatory clarity will remain key factors to watch.
