Wipro Bets Big on AI in Energy with Kongsberg Digital Partnership

WIPRO
has announced a strategic partnership with Kongsberg Digital to deploy AI-powered digital twin solutions in the global energy and utilities sector, aiming to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and resilience across asset-heavy industries. This collaboration integrates Wipro’s AI platforms Industrial-AssetsAI and UpstreamAI with Kongsberg’s Industrial Work Surface to create real-time digital replicas of physical assets like plants and grids, enabling companies to simulate scenarios, predict disruptions, and automate decision-making. The combined solution brings together engineering models, operational data, and enterprise AI into a unified system to optimize performance and reliability at scale. Strategically, both companies plan to co-develop and expand these solutions across energy ecosystems, targeting improved sustainability and operational intelligence. Despite this forward-looking move, Wipro’s stock saw pressure, closing around ₹199.36–₹199.55, down 1.68%, amid broader IT sector weakness, with the Nifty IT index declining 5.29% (down 1,593.70 points to 28,530.60) and Nifty 50 falling 1.14% (down 275.10 points to 23,897.95), highlighting that while the partnership strengthens long-term positioning in a high-growth digital twin market, near-term investor sentiment remains cautious.
