Wipro Secures $1B+ Deal, Strategic Bet on AI-Led Agri-Tech Transformation

WIPRO
has signed one of its largest global deals, securing an 8-year strategic contract worth over $1 billion with Singapore-based Olam Group, including a committed spend of $800 million, while also acquiring its IT arm, Mindsprint, for $375 million in cash to strengthen long-term revenue visibility and domain expertise. As part of this partnership, Wipro will deliver end-to-end, AI-powered digital transformation across Olam’s “farm-to-fork” value chain covering farming, supply chain, trading, and customer operations aimed at improving efficiency, resilience, and scalability. Olam, a $50+ billion company with 40,000 employees, will leverage Wipro’s consulting-led and platform-driven capabilities, while the acquisition (expected to close by June 2026, subject to approvals) ensures tighter integration and strategic control. Notably, this move reflects a “buy-to-secure” strategy where Wipro invests upfront to lock in long-term revenues, enhance sector-specific capabilities, and strengthen its positioning in the fast-evolving food and agri-business technology space.
